The fact is – half of the Lebanese Armed Forces is made up of Hezbollah. That means, Obama’s administration has just given Hezbollah access to unmanned aerial vehicles for their arsenal. What’s next Obama? How about a predator? The Precedent is set… The possibility of the uav’s having any positive effect in the region are slim to none. In all reality, what is now possible is for Hezbollah to gather more intelligence on their chouf region friend Walid Jumblatt…as well as the Lebanese people in general. To put the uav in play before the elections means one thing in all probability – the army will block roads and create a labyrinth of detours to make sure the election is fixed to make sure the opposition becomes the majority…

Washington to Provide Army with Unmanned Military Planes
The United States told visiting Army Commander Gen. Jean Qahwaji it will provide the military with “Raven” unmanned aircrafts to help “boost border control and combating terrorism” across Lebanon, the U.S. embassy in Beirut said Friday. The embassy said in a statement that Qahwaji and top U.S. officials discussed Washington’s “continuous assistance to the Lebanese Army aimed at strengthening the military’s abilities to maintain internal security, combat terrorism, protect the Lebanese borders and ensure the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701.”

This is classic Liberal Fascist thought … from Democracy Now. Never mind the Islamic Supremacist Jihadists that destroy – let’s put the counterterror community on trial, since they actually pay heed to laws. We have to punish someone, so let’s focus on the good guys and maybe somehow, cathartically, we can show the Islamist world that we are not against them. This is pure insanity from the Irish version of Nancy Pelosi.

Fmr. Irish President Mary Robinson Heads Panel Faulting “War on Terror” for Eroding Human Rights
We speak to former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and former president of Ireland, Mary Robinson. Robinson is president of the International Commission of Jurists, which has released a report that finds the so-called war on terror has eroded human rights worldwide. Robinson also addresses the ongoing Israeli siege of Gaza and takeover of the West Bank, the need for an independent investigation of Bush administration crimes, the global economic meltdown, and the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
AMY GOODMAN: A panel of experts set up by the International Commission of Jurists has concluded that counterterrorism measures adopted after 9/11 “threaten the very core of the international human rights framework.” The panel’s report, called “Assessing Damage, Urging Action,” was released last week following a three-year study of how tactics used in the so-called “war on terror” have eroded rights and liberties the world over and created a climate of “lingering cynicism.”
The panel includes sixty senior jurists from around the world. The report studies counterterrorism practices in forty countries but concentrates on the United States, asking President Obama to “immediately and publicly renounce” the characterization of counterterrorism as a war and to investigate human rights abuses against terrorism suspects.

Hamas and Fatah holding talks in Cairo

The rival Palestinian movements Hamas and Fatah are holding talks in Cairo about ending their conflict and forming a government of national unity. As a goodwill gesture, the two sides decided on Wednesday to exchange information on their respective prisoners. They also pledged to stop attacking each other in the media.
There is much at stake in the attempt to form a Palestinian unity government, as billions of euros’ worth of international aid would become available for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. The territory was badly damaged in an Israeli offensive earlier this year intended as retaliation for Palestinian rocket attacks. Hamas ousted Fatah and seized control of the Gaza Strip in June 2007.

Bill Roggio’s prolific efforts in tracking the Pakistan World cannot be underestimated. Every day, I try to track his daily notes on Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan – This entry is a fraction of my personal Roggio Year to Date notes. Each stub usually has 3 or 4 links. If you are interested in keeping up with these events in detail, link up with Roggio’s Long War Journal and follow the chaos and carnage of a land in total disarray.

This file is a spur. Failaka is an Advisory board here in Chicago…it has been around since 1996, and it is the backbone of the IFP program at Harvard. It needs to be analysed in full. This working examination starts with the main players and reveals the Shariah Supervisory Board that is considered a global reference on expertise for up and coming Shariah Compliant Finance analysts. It is an expensive site, but with a little shoe leather, we can uncover all of the Shariah Supervisors around the world in addition to mapping the overarching threat and its onslaught into the Western Financial world. We are in a race against time. In the near future, I will follow up on all of the leaders of Failaka and expose the connection to Harvard’s IFP program. Generally, Failaka sponsors virtually every major gathering of Shariah Compliant Finance experts and business reps. In time, this blog will expose the vast network of SCF and Takaful offerings and generate a moral response against the rising tide of SCF and the Shariah Law that dictates the death of capitalism and the murder of reason in its push to foster the advance of Islamic Supremacism.

Assad tells Senator Cardin Syria wants better ties with U.S.
Published: Wednesday, 18 February, 2009 @ 6:37 PM in Beirut
Damascus- Syria’s president told a visiting U.S. senator Wednesday his country wants to develop relations with the United States after several years of tensions.
Bashar Assad’s talks with Sen. Benjamin Cardin, a Maryland Democrat, focused on developing bilateral relations “through serious and positive dialogue based on mutual respect and joint interest in finding just solutions to the region’s problems,” Syria’s official news agency reported.
His visit comes after President Barack Obama offered to engage countries that had been at odds with the U.S. He is to be followed by two more congressional delegations to Damascus this week, including one headed by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry.
The Syrian news agency said talks also dealt with Middle East developments and “what could be done to boost peacemaking efforts in the Middle East, in addition to the need to combat terrorism.”
Cardin was quoted by SANA as emphasizing the importance of continuing dialogue between Damascus and Washington.

In 15 years, USAID’s budget for the West Bank and Gaza totaled 2.2 billion dollars. Is the new administration considering spending nearly 50% of that total in the reconstruction effort of Gaza? The votes are not in on Capitol Hill are they? Where did the $900 million sum come from? How did this figure get into the picture? The situation speaks volumes. Saudi Arabia has pledged a billion dollars…are we merely keeping up with the Faisals?

Question Taken at the Daily Press Briefing on February 10, 2009
February 12, 2009
Question: Have we provided or do we have plans to provide additional humanitarian aid to Gaza (in addition to the 20 million)?
Answer: At this time, the United States government has contributed almost $60 million for the provision of food, potable water, medicine, and plastic sheeting for emergency shelter needs.
In addition, the State Department has contributed money to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross. For example, since the beginning of the most recent conflict, it has dedicated nearly $55 million to these two organizations for food, shelter and other emergency relief in West Bank and Gaza.
Moreover, USAID has provided almost $6 million for emergency assistance to Gaza. Read the rest of this entry »

Failaka Advisors charge big bucks for in depth research on the Shariah Compliant Finance World. The focus of their effort is on 367 funds found on their website, which I spent four hours to transcribe for you from the following website…
http://www.failaka.com/customer/fundSearch.htm
The interesting thing to me about Failaka is that it is the backbone of the Harvard Islamic Finance Program…it is based in Chicago, Illinois, but for over ten years it has tracked the growth of Islamic Financial Institutions for investors here in the United States. The value of this list is apparently in the nature of 2 or 3 thousand dolalrs for a year of access. However, there is no need to pay that money in an age of internet information. If you have any information on any of these funds, please comment and I will post it. In the near future, I will start posting news links beneath each fund so that the activities of these funds can be exposed for America to see. For now, I think it important to listen to President Obama tell us how we need to sacrifice for the future…sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice for the common good…the message of liberal fascism and totalitarian marxism…the message of the Shariah driven suicide bomber.

Just found a great 2006 Failaka Fund Report PDF – listing inception dates of Shariah Compliance…one can only wonder why the report would cost a grand.
